“I’ve seen people talk their way out of a sale, but I’ve yet to see someone listen their way out of a sale.”
That’s what my dad’s business manager left me with the other day when I was chatting with him. My head exploded. He was right. He was so right. This thought truly humbled me. I talk a lot. It’s not a bad thing, but am I talking my way out of things instead of listening my way in? While he was referring to business, this thought is powerful no matter what one is doing. Even today, I am thinking back to things that I didn’t need to say and I missed out on important information. I need to stop and listen. On that note, I think that’s all I have to say. Anyone have thoughts?
